What should I consider BEFORE using my storage media for production?

Before using the storage media for production, please keep the following in mind:

  • Compatibility: ensure that your storage media is compatible with your camera/device. Feel free to use the Angelbird Compatibility Check to check if your camera/device is compatible with your memory card.
  • Capacity: make sure you have the appropriate storage capacity in usage. Check the storage capacity required for your production in order not to run low while shooting.
  • Firmware: ensure the latest firmware of both your camera and the storage media.
  • Formatting: format your storage media in the camera/device when first used, before every new production and before using your media with a new camera/device model. It's not recommended to use the storage media with the same formatting in multiple cameras/devices. Please always ensure data backup before formatting.
  • Device settings: make sure that the sustained write speed of your storage media matches the minimum speed requirements of your camera/device settings or higher.
  • Test run: perform a comprehensive test run of the storage media in the final camera/device set-up.
  • Back-up: save completed projects on another available storage media of your choice.
